Confessions of a Freshman
(1) My first day of high school didn't turn out, as I intended. (2) When I arrived at school,
was unaware that I would have classes on two different floors. (3) I navigated to the correct
room number for my first class, but I was on the wrong floor. (4) I had always heard about the
infamous high school cafeteria menu. (5) I verified that it was permissible for me to eat
hamburgers and French fries every day of the week.
(6) Traveling in between classes with thousands of other teenagers proved difficult. (7) Five
minutes seemed like enough time until I had to go from the second story down to the first story
and then walk out to a portable building. (8) My friends and I managed to make it through the
entire day without seeing one another.
(9) By the time school dismissed, I was exhausted. (10) I envied the privileged bus riders.
(11) I had to walk home with two large textbooks, a tuba, and a gym bag.
