CREON. I did but pray for what I most desire.
Chor. Pray thou for nothing more. For mortal man
There is no issue from a doom decreed.
A. The Gods cannot help save someone from poor decisions he/she has made.
B. The Gods will look kindly upon man's prayers as long as he asks for what he wants.
C. Even though man may pray, the Gods cannot grant all of his desires.
