WHY might an author choose to use INDIRECT CHARACTERIZATION?
It guides the reader in making their own in-depth conclusions about characters.
It is the most straight-forward and direct way to tell about a character so that a
reader doesn't misunderstand what a character is like.
If an author doesn't know much about a character, indirect characterization
leaves it up to the reader to decide what a character is like, making the writing
easier for the author.
