Waverly Jong is the protagonist in the rules of the game. She is in a psychological battle with her mother and they both constantly try to win againt each other. She doesn't like her mother watching over her play and proudly talking about her daughter. This is where the conflict is. She deals with the conflict by saying to her mother to stop watching her and stop using her to show off. Once in an arguement, she runs away from home. The outcome of the conflict is that she realizes that she can't live on her own and needs her mother.

Waverly Jong is the protagonist in the rules of the game. She is in a psychological battle with her mother and they both constantly try to win againt each other. She masters playing chess. Her mother supports her and make every concession to help her concentrate on playing. She gets very protective as well as proud of Waverly Jong's success. Waverly Jong doesn't like her mother's attitude. Her mother would watch her move while she plotted her games. When Waverly Jong once went to market, her mother proudly talked about her with almost every stranger they met on the way. This embarassed Waverly Jong. She thought her mother is using her to show off. While they are having an arguement, Waverly Jong accidently knocks-off an old lady's bad of groceries. While her mother is busy collecting groceires, she runs away. She later realizes that she can't live all by herself. She goes back home where her mother says to her that she doesn't care about her family and the family also doesn't care about her. She goes into her room and has an imagination in which her opponent is winnig against her and says to her that strongest winds can't be seen. She had been taught this by her mtoher. She contemplates for her next move

there on the beach was a struggling turtle.   around its bright green neck was a loop of soda can rings.   in order to the planet, i have made a few changes to my life.   the first change is reducing the number of straws used. the second change was to recycle.   finally, i have worked hard to clean up litter.   it is important to clean our ocean.

you may not think straws have a large impact but they do.   imagine for every straw you sip out of a poor, , adorable turtle is being harmed.   one way i chipped in to is by using metal straws.   these straws are reusable and inexpensive.   another change is simply turning down straws.   by refusing a straw, i’m the turtles one drink at a time.  

however, the ocean just doesn't have turtles.   there are lots of creatures that live there and are harmed by all the litter.   to prevent litter from growing it’s important to recycle.   for me, i have started to buy most goods that are made out of recycled material.   pura vidas, chacos, purses, and too many other items to even count.   plus, when you buy those products they give money to charities.   not only am i the environment, but i’m also feeling better about my self.   finally, i have worked hard to clean up litter.   it is important to clean our ocean.
