          while      reading the poem “one today” I noticed Richard Blanco said “hear, squeaky playground swings, trains whistling, whispers around the table hear, doors we open for others all day, saying hello, spoken without prejudice, and love and car for fellow americans.” Basically what he is trying to say is that we need to continue on down our paths without prejudice and care for one another instead of others getting different treatment based on race or religion.  

As time has flown by time and time again we were showed just how uncaring and self-righteous some people can be. Starting since before we can remember slavery was a means to get lazy and sit back while abused workers did all the work that you were meant to do. Those who tried to escape we killed publicly to spread fear amongst others who were thinking of escaping. Wars are fought over this type of stuff literally. Many people have been terrified to stand up for what they believe in. so they don’t stand up and let the anarchy consume people. The founding fathers created this country so that we would all be equal not racist or sexist. The created this country on the belief of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
