Changing Tone
The audience for this letter is a school administrator. If
the audience changed to the students themselves, how
would the tone change?
Dear Mr. Gaines:
I'm writing to you on behalf of the sixth grade. We are
very concerned about the recent idea to have all students
wear school uniforms. Hadley Middle School has always
been proud of the diversity of its student body. With this
new rule, all of the students will look the same.
Can students weigh in on this decision before it becomes
a permanent rule?
Sincerely,
Simon Duffy
