The walk that Mead takes in the night in the city is referred to as walking in a graveyard. The city in which Mead lives every individual life in seclusion, in their houses watching TV. During the night, when Mead walks back home from work, there can not be seen any sign of life on the streets. The streets are filled with mist and frosty air, just like that in the graveyards.
