Which purpose might a political persuasive speech serve? to convince the public to support an idea to entertain the audience by describing a recent event to explain a complicated political process to showcase the speaker’s public speaking skills?

one of the key roles of a president, is laying out the foundation for where the country should go. If the president believes in clean energy, then he can rally people behind green energy. If he is anti-immigrant, then people will rally behind him too. This is the prpose of his speeches, to guide the nation into talking points that hopefully support his agenda, whatever that agenda may be.
