Explanation:Structure and Effect on Story/text.1-6. The structure and effect on story is that Susie uses a lot of FLASHBACKS

In the very beginning of chapter 1 Susie recites her death made by Mr.. Harvey. She also talks about Ray (the guy she liked) and how his heart belongs to her.(pg.13 Sebold The Lovely Bones).

Chapter 2 Susie talks about when she first enters heaven and describes how it looks. Then she meets Holly who died the same day as Susie.. In chapter 2 she also talks about her family and detective Len Fenerman who works on Susie case. He is the one who bring Susie's parents a body part(Elbow)

Chapter 3. In this chapter it talks about Ruth. Ruth tells her mom about a dream she had and claims that "I was crossing through the faculty parking lot, and suddenly,down out of the soccer field,I saw a pale running ghost coming toward me.".(pg 37 Sebold The Lovely Bones).

Chapter 4. In this chapter it tells us about the police trying to find Susie's body, and it tells us about Mr. Harvey destroying all the evidence of Susie's body and it tells us about Mr. Harvey life goes on after that.

Chapter 5. "Part of me wished swift vengeance, wanted my father to turn into the man he could never have been-a man violet in rage"(pg. 58 Sebold The Lovely Bones). In this quote it just automatically just tells us that Susie wishes that her father just took a sledgehammer and just killed Mr.. Harvey before he got away.

Chapter 6. Susie talks about Ray and her crush on him and how she knew ray had a crush on her.

Then she flashes forward to present time where Ruth and ray start to hang out and talk about Susie before she was dead.

7-11. Present Time

" "Do you see her?" Buckley asked Nate as they climbed the stairs, Holiday in tow. "That's my sister"

"No" Nate Said..

"She's gone for a while, but now she's back. Race!""

Susie's Parents finally decides to have a funeral for Suise even though they don´t have a body to present.

Flashback

Lindsey is at her gifted and talented symposium and they have to do a project to commit the perfect murder.

Mr.Salmon wanted justice for his daughter so he went to the cornfield(Where Susie was murdered) because jhe saw a candle light but it was really Clarissa(Susie's friend) and her boyfriend but Salmon thought it was Mr. Harvey and tried to attack her but then salmon thought that clarissa was susie at the same time so he tried to save, But brian came and attacked Salmon and now Susie's dad is in the hospital.

12-16 Flashback

Susie has a flashback to when she and lindsey were younger and how she had a competiton between who can have mommy longer.

Present

Susie's mom falls for Dective Len at the hospital and cheats on her husband while he is in deep sleep.

Flashback

Susie flashes back to the time when her mom found out that she was having another baby(Buckley).

Susie mom leaves.

17-22

Present

Lindsey is 22 and Buckley is 13.

Susie has been dead for more than 5 years and they still haven't caught Mr. Harvey.

Lindsey and Samuel get married

Mr. Salmon has an Heart attack.

Mrs. Salmon comes back for the sake of her children and Mr. Salmon.
