"New Directions" Short Response Question (Context clues)
Objective: IWBAT explain how I used context clues to determine the meaning of
unfamiliar words.
Directions: After watching the videos on context clues, answer the following short
response question.
1. Look at how the word meticulously is used in paragraph 4. By remembering
that the suffix"-ly" means "in a certain way," use that information, along with
context clues provided in the passage, to determine the meaning of
"meticulously.” Write your definition of the word and tell how you figured out
its meaning. Cite specific evidence from the text to support your answer.
