This picture makes me think of when i was 5 years old. My family and I were staying the weekend at my grandparents house way out in Duck, North Carolina. We were swimming in their swimming pool after coming home from a long day at the beach. My sister had pushed me off of the diving board, knowing I cannot swim. I didn’t have my floaties on either. I sank to the bottom of the deep end, screaming, but nobody was near. My sister thought I was playing around and holding my breath. Little did she know, I was drowning. Kicking and flapping my arms up and down, I didn’t know what to do. About a minute or so went by and my sister ran for my mother. She came out screaming and jumped in. She pulled me out of the water and I wasn’t breathing. My mother began CPR and prayed to God. Water dripped from my mouth as i grasped for air. I was alive. I had scared my mother to death.
