Why is Zeus culturally significance to Greek culture?

Zeus is the thunder and lightning god of the Greek Pantheon. He was the one the main three gods which also include his brothers Poseidon and Hades. Back then, the Greeks prayed to these gods for things big and small such as praying for safe weather while on the ocean from Poseidon, or praying for a good hunt from Artemis, etc.
