be defined as argument. Each example should focus on an issue that people
are still arguing about and on which there is no general agreement. Each
student should also define a position on the issue, and the position should be
supported with reasons and evidence. Look for examples in a variety of
contexts: newspapers, magazines, the Internet, television, motion pictures,
music, sermons, other college classes, conversations, and printed material
you find at work, at school, and at home. Bring in actual examples of
articles, images, letters to the editor, bumper stickers, advertisements, or
other easily transportable argument formats, or provide clear and complete
descriptions and explanations of argument sources you cannot bring to
class, such as lectures, television shows, or billboards.
Upload the example of argument you selected to Blackboard, including a
description of the issue and some of the reasons and evidence offered. This
is most easily achieved by completing the statement “This arguer wants us
to believe..., because"
The class should decide whether all examples described in this activity are
indeed examples of argument.

unethical, and say why.

faulty parallelism is a construction in which two or more parts of a sentence are equivalent in meaning but not grammatically similar in form.

the correct version of this faulty parallelism in the sentence is:

the hikers knew that the hike was six miles, that it usually required the entire day, and it would not be wise to start after 10: 00 a.m.

the problem is the last sentence, the first two have a basic subject+verb+object structure.

so, to give a proper balance to the structure, or better said, to give a parallel structure, we must write a basic s+v+o structure in all three sentences:

the hikers knew that the hike was six miles, that it usually required the entire day, and it would not be wise to start after 10: 00 a.m.

honestly, school in itself just seems to be a huge waste of time. a lot of people graduate but still end up not doing anything in college anyways, which really makes the whole point of graduating seem useless. i'd rather not bring anyone's hopes up then. what i'd recommend is for whoever's reading this to simply drop out.

i mean, kanye did it. he said something along the lines of, "don't let society tell you what to do." now, he's obviously a very successful person, and since his album is called the college dropout i guess he never really had to go through all that nonsense in order to become a millionaire. the same goes for anyone else then.
