Pope Martin V is important because -he was England's answer to Joan of Arc and helped England's King Richard II conquer
King Henry II of France.
-he was elected pope to unify the church after the Captivity of Babylon caused schism.
-he was elected pope and traveled to England as his first act. While in England, Pope
Martin V settled the dispute between the peasants and landowners.
-his faith was so strong that he traveled from house to house performing healing
ceremonies for those infected with the Black Plague and never contracted the
disease.
