Lycaon is questioning Jupiter's power. He
wants to kill Jupiter to prove he is more
powerful

avenging furies rule."
Jupiter seeks revenge on Lycaon by burning
down Arcadia's temple.

sent by the Molossi, opened his throat with a
knife, and made some of the still warm limbs
tender in seething water..."
Lycaon is transformed into an animal.

same savage image."
Jupiter transforms Lycaon into a wolf against
his will
"Foaming at the mouth, and greedy as ever
for killing, he turned against the sheep..."
Lycaon is transformed into a wolf in
punishment for his violent actions.
