Read this excerpt from The Outsiders. What is the theme of this excerpt?

brother, Soda, who is sixteen-going-on-seventeen,

like them. And nobody in our gang digs movies and
books the way I do. For a while there, I thought I was

O Being part of a team is meaningful.
O Growing up means accepting oneself.
O Nature teaches powerful life lessons.
O Family traditions are important.
