Napoleon was successful in chasing out snowball from the farm because of the fact that he had a (small) army of 9 dogs. This was basically a military coup which (ignore my insistent desire to compare these characters to other famous animals,) was similar to Napoleon's own coup of the french regime after the French Revolution, (although it was different because the French regime after the french revolution Robespierre was a tyrant who was arguably worse than King Louis XVI.) The other animals did not stop it partly due to the fear of the dogs attacking them and the fear of retaliation from Napoleon and Napoleon's propaganda through squealer that left everyone thinking Napoleon was the good guy.
