The story is narrated from the objective point of view in the third person which means that the narrator will not show the thoughts or emotions of any character and will make an external narration, where only show what is happening outside the organism of each character. This type of narration is very efficient to cause a change in the point of view of the reader who starts reading thinking that the lottery is a good thing, however as the story walks the reader, through the narration he begins to realize that there is something dark and morbid in that lottery and begins to have an aversion to that "prize".

The narrator never spoke about the lottery prize, but he begins to show that it is a bad thing, since the population is anxious and a little afraid to be drawn, in addition, the drawn family complains a lot about having been chosen and then it starts a stoning that makes the reader completely change his opinion about the lottery.
