Select an author from your recent assigned texts (or one of your choosing) and prepare to write a well-researched expository or explanatory essay of at least 800 to 1,000 words that explores ways in which the work reflects the author’s cultural context. Examples of cultural context or influence include topics such as arranged marriage, religious influence, forms of government, or regional or ethnic values. Develop a thesis about how the author reflected or questioned tradition.
