In paragraph 6, what evidence does the author use to rebut the idea that IQ tests are not valid? Answer choices for the above question

A. the fact that people who do well on verbal tests are unlikely to do well on math tests

B. the fact that the various types of intelligence measured by IQ tests tend to correlate well

C. the fact that IQ tests measure a variety of different types of intelligence

D. the fact that people have different types of intelligence and are good at different things

PARAGRAPH 6

There are many varieties of tests, but amazingly, results on most of those tests correlate very well. For example, a test-taker who performs well in a verbal test is likely to perform well on a spatial or memory test. A test-taker who performs poorly on a spatial test is likely to perform poorly on a memory or verbal test. So even though people may say, β€œOh, IQ tests are not valid because people have different intelligences and are good at different things,” it seems clear that even if you believe that you are visually intelligent and do best on non-verbal tests, the odds are good that if you do well on those, you will also succeed on other forms of tests. If you take one of the many standard IQ tests, you will find that it includes a variety of types of tests whose scores are put together to make up your IQ score. So not only are you given a test that examines multiple intelligences, but you are also given a test whose various components correlate well.

Read the passage from sugar changed the world. but it is in india, where it was used as an offering in religious and magical ceremonies, that we have the first written record of sugar. long before the first pyramids were built in egypt, the ancient sumerians traded with the people of harappa and mohenjo daro, who lived along the indus river. unfortunately, we are still not able to read the writings left behind from those ancient cities. so the first documents telling us about life in that region come from a much later period. these hindu sacred teachings were probably first gathered together sometime between 1500 and 900 b.c., and were carefully memorized. only hundreds of years later were they finally written down. the hindu writings tell us of a religion in which fire was extremely important. people believed that the gods gave fire to human beings. yet fire was also a way for humans to reach the gods. by placing offerings in a special fire, a priest could turn them into smoke and send them on to the gods. five ingredients were selected for this special burning: milk, cheese, butter, honey, and sugar cane. which details would best fit in a summary of this passage? select two options. "in india . . it was used as an offering in religious and magical ceremonies" "the first written record of sugar" "long before the first pyramids were built in egypt" "gods gave fire to human beings" "a priest could turn them into smoke and send them on to the gods"
