Adalyn had long pondered the possibility of staying in the museum after hours. She thought it would be so much fun to have the place to herself and explore all night long. A plan had finally fallen into place. Adalyn had told her mother that she and Atticus would sleep at their grandmother's house that night. She didn't like telling lies, but she had always wanted to spend the night in the museum. It wasn't going to hurt anyone. She and Atticus would be safe inside the building, and they would return home the next day. Their mom would be none the wiser. Adalyn hadn't told Atticus the plan. She knew he would blow their cover. Atticus was such a teddy bear. He was also an open book. Atticus was as honest as they came and hated to lie. Adalyn knew this was a great quality of her brother's, but just this once, she needed him to keep a secret

In my opinion, it was very dangerous for the children to stay at the museum because no one knew where they were.
