Should we keep the electoral college?

In 2 factors The electoral College is you voting for people who vote for the person that was chosen in majority in that state so when more people vote for  democrats thats states votes example california  all 55 electoral go to democrat but in other states example maine they split the votes i believe if there a tie so they should keep it it's a more understandable and effective way to vote because if there are 331,002,651 adults that are legally aloud to vote the candidates would need to have 331,002,651 votes or example at least 60 or 75% of the 331,002,651 people in order to win  

i believe it may be the hope this sorry if i'm wrong.
