Usually these demands are in terms of monetary transactions or sending certain valuables to the criminal. If we look into the severity of the crime between a pen-robbery and an armed robbery, without any doubt pen-robbery is much more worse than an armed robbery.

Armed robbery usually occurs when the criminal uses a lethal weapon to make certain demands to the victim. Armed robbery may take place anywhere. The fact that armed robbery demands are made physically, the chances of making demands hastily are much higher. Usually armed robbers only take what one person has with him/her at the time of the robbery. They can neither wait for long nor they can take everything because the chances of getting caught is very high.

On the other hand, pen-robbery demands are very high and lucrative. This is because criminals has to only provide bank details or transaction points where the demands could be made. They can demand for the whole assets as well as wealth of the victim with just a note.

Therefore, I believe that pen-robbery is much more worse than armed robbery because they demands are higher in a pen-robbery than an armed robbery.
