Knowing that Romeo eventually ends up with Juliet, how is Romeo's immense sadness at being rejected by Rosaline an example of dramatic irony?
Dramatic irony is the situation in which the audience knows something that the characters do not know. For
instance, in Avengers: Infinity War, the audience knows that many of the dead characters will not stay dead
because there are future movies in production that feature those characters. The characters within the story do
not know that information.
