She chose not to buy a "discolored old silver container with a long spout". This suggests that she is a strange person after her experience with Sir Galahad. Mrs. Whitaker bought a goblet from a junk shop called the Oxfam Shop. And as soon as she puts the Holy Grail on the mantelpiece, Sir Galahad comes to pick it up. After many attempts to get her to agree to her exchange, she forgave and gave Sir Galahad her Holy Grail. At the end of the story, we see Mrs. Whitaker again in the store buying a Mills & Boon novel and a "discolored old silver container with a long spout." And, in her opinion, "it didn't seem like she could put it everywhere," which suggests a change in her behavior.

i think the correct answer would be adjustments in life roles. this causes for one to adjust or change totally his/her career or lifestyle since the present is not beneficial to the life role he is at. for instance, you became a mother you would of course stop going to malls and enjoying life outside. you would be staying at home taking care of your child.
