In "Mowgli's Brothers," Mowgli beats Shere Khan with the flaming branch and runs him and other wolves off at the Council Rock. How does Mowgli respond at the end of this event? Mowgli is excited about the prospect of being the new leader of the pack. Mowgli is nervous about confronting Shere Khan the next time he sees him. Mowgli sobs because his heart is broken and is confused by his hurt feelings. Mowgli is furious that he had to take such drastic steps against Shere Khan.
