Although an egalitarian society is approached as the cradle of freedom and peace among citizens, Vonnegut shows that a society that is totally egalitarian would be very disadvantageous, as it would take away the personality and the ability of the citizens to react, forcing everyone to act exactly the same way, being limited to oppressing all its particularities and therefore killing freedom and creating limitations. Furthermore, an egalitarian society does not allow people to express themselves and feel emotions, as this creates differences. As a result, egalitarian society oppresses, delimits and arrests people. This conclusion can be taken from reading the book and interpreting what happens to each character, especially the main ones.
