Read the writing excerpt from one of your fellow students and answer the questions that follow: In paragraph 12-14, McGonigal’s supporting claim is how people aren’t just interested in their own reality anymore. She talks about how they’d rather game for hours than be involved with their everyday life. And she adds this so that the readers can understand a bit of the way these gamers prefer gaming than doing something that's actually productive for them. She supports this claim by also saying how, “we are creating a massive virtual silo of cognitive effort, emotional energy, and collective attention lavished on game worlds instead of the real world”. McGonigal also includes how “hundreds of millions of people worldwide are opting out of reality for larger and larger chunks of time”. She is using this to explain the steadily increasing amount of gamers, who are constantly gaming for the majority of their day/week.

" keyn asked. tablin looked around the dirt courtyard. he tried to peer through the shadowy arches of the flowing barrel. he even twisted in his saddle to look across the merchant's bazaar, past tents and warehouses filled with goods. "i don't know," he said. "did you leave it in your mouth? it's the only place i can think of that's big enough." keyn laughed; something got stuck in his throat half way, and he coughed for breath. "i can see you're good to go,” tablin observed as keyn struggled to clear his throat. “go get your horse yourself before i take the job and leave you to rot in the flowing barrel."
