PLS HELP How can an argument be strengthened by identifying the opposing claim and arguing against it?

It is very important to include a counterclaim in your essay.  It shows that you see both sides of the argument and have spent time researching both before deciding which one is best.  This makes you seem more believable, and like a valuable, trustworthy source.
