Write a story ending with half a loaf is better than none (i might mark you as a brainliest if you do it well)

Jordan ran through the woods, legs aching with pain. But he couldn't stop now. If he stopped now they would get him. And kill him. And no one wanted to be killed, so he kept running. To where not even he knew. All he knew was that he had to run, run, run. And run he did. Eventually, he reached a frozen pond in the middle of the forest. It would take much too long to go around, and judging by the weaponry that his pursuers held, his life would be rather short if he went around the pond. He delicately placed foot after foot onto the ice, taking care not to apply a multitude of pressure. In a few seconds, though, the King's guards came crashing through the woods. Jordan looked back and saw the closest one aim his crossbow. He took the shot and hit Jordan dead-on in the arm. He screamed in pain and then dropped to the ice, pulling the arrow out of the bloody wound.

Red.

All he could see was red.

When Jordan awoke, he found himself in iron chains and sitting in a filthy jail cell. A few moments later, there was a knock on the splintered wooden door and a maid with a plate of bread and soup entered the dank room. She set the food down next to him on the floor and then looked up. In the gleaming light, her brown eyes sparkled mischievously. Then she looked at his cuffed wrists and said, "We must hurry. I haven't got much time." and set to work picking the lock on the iron chains. In a couple of seconds, Jordan was free and the maid told him, "We have to go, Jordan. The court was waiting for your trial. Once they sound the warning bell, your mission will be forfeit, and you will be condemned to death by the bloody King."

"Wait!" He whisper-shouted. The maid paused and hissed, "What?"

Jordan grinned and broke off a piece of bread from the meal she had brought to him, "Half a loaf is better than none."
