Read this excerpt from Anne Frank Remembered. Then I waited. It was about the time that Henk would come for lunch. After a very short time I heard the familiar sound of Henk's footsteps on the stairs. Before he could come inside, I jumped up, ran to the door, opened it, grabbed him by the arm, and said, "Henk, it's wrong here." I shoved everything into his hands and gave him a little push. Henk understood me immediately and disappeared. My breath caught in my chest, I went back to my desk, where the man with the gun had told me to stay. How does Miep build suspense in this passage? A:by describing her thoughts in detail B:by retelling the events of a dangerous situation C:by quoting her exact words to Henk D:by revealing her emotional connection to her husband
