The difference between Shakespeare and other famous writers of world literature is that Shakespeare did not write about a specific element of a society, time or historical event, but wrote about the human soul and the problems, happiness and hopelessness that make it up, making it anteporal and identifiable at any time, as, as literary critic Harold Blomm says "Shakespeare, invented the human being" managing to trace all its aspects, contradictions and elements.

Shakespeare's ability to portray the human soul is what makes it timeless and this ability is what provides the fulfillment of Ben Johnson's prophecy that states that Shakespeare “was not of an age, but for all time.”
