Children lose their baby teeth when their adult teeth come in. Most people will grow 32 adult teeth. But many people don't keep all of them. Many people will remove four of them: their wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth are four "extra" teeth. No one really needs them. They grow behind all the other teeth, at the top and bottom and at the left and right sides of the mouth. These teeth can cause pain when they appear. They can even grow in sideways, pushing all the other teeth out of line. If this happens, a dentist will recommend removing the wisdom teeth. Dentists often suggest this for teenagers and people in their twenties. Drugs help the patient feel less pain while the teeth are taken out. Then, the patient must keep his or her mouth very clean while the mouth heals itself.

Read the quotation from "an occurrence at owl creek bridge." and now he became conscious of a new disturbance. striking through the thought of his dear ones was a sound which he could neither ignore nor understand, a sharp, distinct, metallic percussion like the stroke of a blacksmithÒ€ℒs hammer upon the anvil; it had the same ringing quality. he wondered what it was, and whether immeasurably distant or near byÒ€”it seemed both. its recurrence was regular, but as slow as the tolling of a death knell. he awaited each stroke with impatience andÒ€”he knew not whyÒ€”apprehension. the intervals of silence grew progressively longer, the delays became maddening. with their greater infrequency the sounds increased in strength and sharpness. they hurt his ear like the thrust of a knife; he feared he would shriek. what he heard was the ticking of his watch. which best describes the effect of the narration in the excerpt? it suggests that the man being executed feels tranquil and at peace. it suggests that the narrator is sympathetic to the man being executed. it suggests that the plot will become less tense as the story continues. it suggests that the story will become more intense and mysterious.

The greatest gift the sumerians gave the world was the invention of writing. the sumerians were a wealthy people. they needed some way to keep track of what they owned. they began drawing pictures. they used a reed as a pen. they drew on soft pieces of clay. the soft clay was then dried in the sun. the tablet became a permanent record. later, the sumerian drawings changed into wedge-shaped symbols. this kind of writing is called cuneiform. by putting symbols together, the sumerians could write entire sentences.
