We would always find means to play one game or another. we did not bother about the quality of play equipment. If there was not anything, we would run after one another.

I would fly kites for hours, play marbles, go to tube-wells to have bath; pilfer fruits from other people’s orchards and run if the owner came to know we were plucking fruits from his tree.

in sentence number   two   the pronoun he refers to charles dickens the author. yet, the first half of the sentence is about the book a tale of two cities. to repair this it would be better to rephrase the first half : after i read   a tale of two cities by dickens, he so as to remove the remote reference.
