Which cinderella did yall read and I need an example.

Perrault's version of the tale, first published in 1697, was a retelling of the first European printing of the myth of rags to riches written by Giambattista Basile. Perrault added the now famous elements of the fairy godmother, the pumpkin carriage, and the glass slippers.

One part of the story that has remained unchanged is the situation of poor Cinderella. Her mother having died when she was young, Cinderella's father remarried a woman with two daughters of her own. The stepmother and the two ugly stepsisters have become an iconic part of the story as they torment and humiliate the beautiful Cinderella. In French, Perrault's young heroine was called Cendrillon. She supposedly got her name from the fact that she was made to sleep by the hearth on the floor, so was always covered in cinders.

Another thing is the princes ball: The Prince of the kingdom where Cinderella lives has decided to marry, and throws a royal ball to meet all the single young ladies of the kingdom. Of course, the two stepsisters are excited about attending, which Cinderella will not be allowed to do.

But after everyone leaves the house, the young girl is visited by a fairy godmother, who changes her rags into a glittering ball gown and delicate glass slippers, and creates a princely carriage from a pumpkin. To attend the now elegant young woman, she turns mice into horses, a rat into a coachman, and lizards into footmen. And off Cinderella goes to the royal ball, after being warned to return by midnight.

Love at First Sight : No one recognizes Cinderella at the ball, and the Prince is instantly enchanted with the beautiful stranger.  For the first night of the ball (remember, this is Perrault's version), the girl remembers to get home by midnight, and all is well.

The next night, the godmother appears again and performs the same magic so that Cinderella can attend the second night of the royal ball. This time, she is so caught up with her romance with the Prince that she forgets to leave before midnight. She runs out of the ballroom, and in her haste loses one of the glass slippers. The Prince follows his dream girl and finds the lost slipper, but only a simple, ragged country girl running down the road.

He vows to search until he finds the girl who lost the glass slipper. Cinderella keeps the other slipper, which does not disappear when the spell is broken at midnight. Yes, this is somewhat illogical, but readers have been accepting this plot twist for centuries.

As you may imagine, the Prince tries the slipper on every girl in the kingdom, and it doesn't fit any of them. Finally, he comes to the house where Cinderella lives and tries the slipper on the two stepsisters. No luck. Of course, it does fit Cinderella, and she produces the mate to the magical shoe just to make sure.

This one has a happy ending. Cinderella marries the Prince and forgives the bad behavior of her stepmother and stepsisters, who are also happily married to men from the Royal Court.
