Is it ever grammatically correct to place a comma after the word 'and' when the 'and' is separating two main clauses

Use commas to separate words and word groups in a simple series of three or more items.

Example: My estate goes to my husband, son, daughter-in-law, and nephew.

one context clue that me find the meaning of luxuriance was that the base word of luxuriance is luxury, so i think that luxuriance means something that is luxury, or something luxurious.
