Read the following passage from "Losing My Dominican Soul" by Juana Campos, and
answer the following question:
"When I lived in the Dominican Republic, my entire family would come together -every
Sunday morning in my grandparents' old wooden house, where they had raised my mother
and her 11 brothers and sisters. Between aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, we
were about 25 to 30 people altogether. By noon, our noses were all busy with the smell of
my grandmother's food. Rice, beans, chicken, and potato salad. It was a combination of hot
and cold, creamy and dry, fried and steamy."
