coerced confessions: argued that the court should throw out confession a suspect made that was coerced or forced by the police. Protecting rights of individual. Lost a highly publicized case, but still made significant contribution to the cause.
voting rights: showed that “white-only” primary elections in Texas were unfair because they denied African Americans involvement in the political process.
right to buy homes: successfully argued that African Americans could not be excluded from buying homes in white neighborhoods.
Marshall’s arguments used the Constitution to over turn unjust laws.
