A writer is using the following text to write a paper about the history of modern dance:
adapted excerpt from Olive Schreiner and Isadora Duncan
by Floyd Dell
Miss Isadora Duncan stands as representative of the renaissance[1] in dancing. She has brought back to us the antique beauty of an art of which we have had only relics and mementos in classic sculpture and decoration. She has made us despise the frigid artifice[2] of the ballet. She has taught us that the natural movements of the body create the most potential for beautiful choreography. It has been to many of us one of the finest experiences of our lives to see, for the first time, the marble maiden of the Grecian urn come to life in her. She has touched our lives with the magic of timeless loveliness and a newfound ability to communicate through art.
1 A renaissance (uncapitalized) is a revival of or renewed interest in something.
2 An artifice is something used to trick or deceive others.
Which sentence in the writer’s paper should the writer revise to include an in-text citation?
In many ways, Isadora Duncan can be considered the founder of modern dance. Her work showed that the natural movements of the body create the most potential for beautiful choreography. By demonstrating this fact, Isadora fundamentally changed the world of dance. From that point forward, professional dancers from all styles thought more about how to make their movements appear more organic.
