(6) Visitors can walk to the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial from the National Mall. (7) Another historical site to visit is the National Archives building. (8) Built in 1934, it was the first National Archives building and was created to provide a location for important government documents. (9) This building houses famous documents such as the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. (10) These documents show the founding ideas of our nation. (11) For visitors who want to view more historical documents the Library of Congress has millions of very old books. (12) This building is located on Capitol Hill. (13) The Library of Congress is the chillest place for literary and history nerds alike.
(14) The Smithsonian is a large complex. (15) It has 19 museums, 9 research centers, multiple galleries, and a zoological park. (16) The Smithsonian museums include the American Art Museum, the Air and Space Museum, and the American History Museum. (17) Visitors can see aircraft dating back to the early 1900s, works by famous artists, meteorites, and much more.
