The Power of the Wind Global warming and energy independence are important concerns for the United States. One of the most valuable renewable resources that can be used for energy is wind power. Using wind power will help our country reduce its dependence on fossil fuels which pollute the environment and are expensive to purchase from foreign governments. Installing wind turbines that harness the wind helps create thousands of new jobs which will boost the country's economy. Everyone in the United States supports the use of wind energy.
