The Power of the Wind Global warming and energy independence are important concerns for the United States. One of the most valuable renewable resources that can be used for energy is wind power. Using wind power will help our country reduce its dependence on fossil fuels which pollute the environment and are expensive to purchase from foreign governments. Installing wind turbines that harness the wind helps create thousands of new jobs which will boost the country's economy. Everyone in the United States supports the use of wind energy. However, there is still a lot of work to do. 86% of energy in the United States is still produced by fossil fuels. This demonstrates that our country still relles on these harmful pollutants that send carbon dioxide streaming Into the atmosphere for its main source of energy. Many new wind power projects should be constructed in a nationwide effort to address global warming. There are many sites across our country that are excellent places to Install turbines. The government should provide tax credits to land owners who choose to have turbines Installed on their property. This would help the expansion of wind farms across the United States.
