Is Perec's avoidance of the letter e just a writing exercise, or does it serve any other purpose in the novel?

and the reason being is because she get me in trouble for the smallest things that i really don't be doing all the time it be my friends that's around me.and i love to do things that other people but when she get on my nerves i don't talk to no one i just sit there and do my work half the time.
