Read this excerpt from a letter to the city council: Dear city council members:
The city has proposed limiting library hours in order to save money. I understand that the city budget is being challenged at the moment, but no good will come of denying children access to the library after school. Children go to the library to learn and to get help with their homework. As a single parent, I rely on the library as an affordable place where I know my kids will be safe. Of all the programs to cut, the library should not be your first choice.
