Having animals as pets is not a priority. Many men share the bunkhouse and Candy's old dog affects them all. Candy's old dog is seen as a liability in a world that exists on practicality and survival. It is actually Slim who gives the nod for a final decision. Slim is seen as a calm, kind, and rational voice on the ranch. I think it was better for the dog to be put down.

3. candy has a lot of money for the position that he's in. he got $250 for losing his hand on the job, $50 in the bank, and he has $50 more coming to him soon. And he lost his hand and they was going kicked him or killed him bc that wasn’t much to do that is why is want to join them

4. curley was accusing slim of looking at his wife inappropriately. curley thinks that lennie is laughing at him, but he is actually laughing to himself while thinking about his plan with lennie and george. And when George tell him to go ahead and he defend himself when he couldn’t take no more.

5. Curley agree to say that his hand was caught in a machine, so as to avoid the embarrassment of other people finding out he was taken down so quickly by Lennie. Curley agrees to keep quiet.
