I once asked a guy who claimed that he likes me: why do you like me?

He replied in a way as if these are the only things he cared about and no more.

I tried to hold back and not to laugh.

I wanted to laugh because I found his honesty very cute. This might be the real answer behind a great deal of relationships out there, but people often cover it up using lame reasons to justify themselves.

I have a mixed feelings of this answer.

I was gloomy that my inner strength isn't valued. How superficial and materialistic! I'm OK, financially, and in terms of appearance. I don't consider myself rich nor very beautiful.
