How does protecting the 5th Amendment also help protect equal rights for minority groups?

Many politicians and cops gov. officials etc, have been known to be corrupt. Pleading the fifth can get you out of alot of problems. Cops can use any and everything you say against you. Some of these officials target minority and specific races so being able to plead the fifth and stay silent is a big help, because sometimes cops or officials do try and oush you into saying something that can be used against the person. So to sum it up it helps minorities avert the situation with being able to stay silent.
