Part One: Identifying Contracting Pairs

Circle the words that can be contracted. There may be more than one.

1. Paul has not left his room since we gave him a guitar.

2. Now he is playing loud rock music and will not come downstairs.

3. We have tried shouting his name but that did not work.

4. We have tried sending text messages to him, but he does not hear those either.

5. How will we get Paul to eat dinner with us?

6. Let us try something that we should have tried a long time ago.

7. Mom, you will have to get your tambourine and I will get your electric trombone, Dad.

8. I am going to the garage because that is where we stored the rest of the gear.

9. Who is going to plug my clarinet into this amp?

10. Be careful, it is electrified but will not harm us if we keep it dry.
