Working with people of different cultures/countries/ethnic backgrounds is really a challenge. At the same time, it is interesting to meet and learn from new people. Living and working in a foreign country opens us up to the novel way of living and broadens our thinking pattern.
At times, living in an alien place and working with strangers can be hard to manage. However, I think it can be best managed by making new friends. People who belong to the same place and are familiar with the work culture have a lot to offer to the new joiners. Apart from informing us about the good places to live, eat and buy, they can also help us in the dos and don’ts at the work place.
Secondly, we may start learning the native (or official) language of that country, study the religious beliefs of people (so that we may not hurt anyone unintentionally!) and try out their type of outfits (Saree in India and Kimino in Japan) occasionally. This type of behavior may promote our likeness in the society and we ourselves will not feel alone.

Were you able to adapt? Why or why not? 
Moving to a foreign land for job is a tough decision to take. Not only do we have to deal with the stress of leaving home, we also have to struggle to find the way to live in a country whose culture, society, and language are different from our own.
However, I will be able to adapt myself while working in a group of people with diverse backgrounds because I am inherently flexible and emotionally intelligent. I believe that the fundamental quote “Give respect, have respect” holds true and is best practiced in such situations.
As aforementioned, it will be in my best interest to meet new people and acquaint myself to their ways of life. I will try to break out of my comfort zone and try to immerse in the local culture.
