Today we are going to create a poem according the guidelines listed below. You will be randomly selected to
read your poem to the class.
Instructions:
Step 1-open the book to any page between chapters 1-7. If you are reading the electronic version, choose a
page between those chapters as well.

Step 2-Choose 12-15 fragments that stand out to you. Fragments are parts of a sentence.
Step 3-Organize your fragments into poem format, rearranging where needed for clarity.
You may leave out words, but you may not add any words to the poem.
