Plz help Explain the author's point of view on the topic of the diamond industry. Use evidence from the passage to support your response. Not all diamonds are created equal. In the United States, diamond jewelry has been popular for a long time, particularly diamond engagement rings. However, the U. S. is the largest buyer of conflict diamonds. Conflict diamonds are also known as blood diamonds. Blood diamonds are mined in war zones and sold to cover the expense of wars and criminal activity. Most blood diamonds are mined in Africa.
The U. S. government has made efforts to keep blood diamonds out of the country. In 2003, the Clean Diamond Trade Act was enacted. Under this act, the source of all diamonds entering the U. S. must be checked. Unfortunately, the process for checking diamonds entering the country is not foolproof and has not been entirely effective.
Because of this uncertainty, many people argue that diamonds should not be bought. However, there are ways for people to avoid buying blood diamonds. Buy diamonds that have been mined in countries not currently involved in civil war. Also, vintage diamonds from as late as the mid-twentieth century will not be blood diamonds. Some retailers are able to provide proof that their diamonds were mined under safe conditions. Purchasing factory-made diamonds is a great way to avoid the blood diamond controversy all together. Millions of innocent lives have been lost in the mining of conflict diamonds. Therefore, people should take the time to make sure they are purchasing conflict-free gems.

"the children's hour" by henry wadsworth longfellow between the dark and the daylight, when the night is beginning to lower, comes a pause in the day's occupations, that is known as the children's hour. i hear in the chamber above me the patter of little feet, the sound of a door that is opened, and voices soft and sweet. from my study i see in the lamplight, descending the broad hall stair, grave alice, and laughing allegra, and edith with golden hair. a whisper, and then a silence: yet i know by their merry eyes they are plotting and planning together to take me by surprise. a sudden rush from the stairway, a sudden raid from the hall! by three doors left unguarded they enter my castle wall! they climb up into my turret o'er the arms and back of my chair; if i try to escape, they surround me; they seem to be everywhere. they almost devour me with kisses, their arms about me entwine, till i think of the bishop of bingen in his mouse-tower on the rhine! do you think, o blue-eyed banditti, because you have scaled the wall, such an old mustache as i am is not a match for you all! i have you fast in my fortress, and will not let you depart, but put you down into the dungeon in the round-tower of my heart. and there will i keep you forever, yes, forever and a day, till the walls shall crumble to ruin, and moulder in dust away! which literary device does longfellow use most frequently in the poem? a. simile b. metaphor c. repetition d. personification
